Peacock Pond
Capturing a Horse Farm in the Horse Farm Capital of the World
Ocala, Florida is home to more than 1,500 horse farms, making it the densest concentration of horse farms in the world. Because of that, Ocala is often referred to as the Horse Farm Capital of the World — and after spending time at Peacock Pond, it’s easy to understand why.
This property is a true example of what makes Ocala horse farms so special.
Complete Creative Freedom on Location
The owner wasn’t present during the shoot, which meant I had complete freedom to move through the property and capture it exactly the way I felt it should be presented. Honestly, the prep work couldn’t have been easier — a quick pass blowing a few leaves away, and we were ready to rock and roll.
From that moment on, it was all about light, timing, and storytelling.
Returning for the Right Light
I visited Peacock Pond three separate times, each under different light conditions. Horse farms like this deserve more than a quick walk-through shoot. The way the light wraps around the barn, filters through the trees, and settles over the property changes dramatically throughout the day — and capturing those variations is what elevates the final photos and video.
The barn itself is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, full of character, and clearly built with intention. It’s one of those structures that feels impressive the moment you walk up to it.
Inside the main house, the atmosphere shifts to something warm and inviting. The interiors are cozy, thoughtfully designed, and filled with natural light, making them a pleasure to photograph. It’s the kind of home that feels comfortable and refined at the same time — exactly what you want potential buyers to experience visually.
A Video Intro I’m Especially Proud Of
One of my favorite parts of this project is the intro of the video. I used my slider to create a smooth, cinematic opening that immediately sets the tone for the property. Movement like that isn’t just about looking cool — it helps guide the viewer into the space and creates a sense of depth and presence that static shots simply can’t achieve.
Those subtle details are what separate a standard real estate video from something more cinematic and engaging.
Why Horse Farms Deserve a Thoughtful Approach
Horse properties are unique. They’re not just about square footage or room counts — they’re about land, lifestyle, and atmosphere. Peacock Pond is a perfect example of how careful photography and video work can highlight that lifestyle and tell a story that still images alone can’t fully convey.
Projects like this are exactly why I love what I do.
